AGRILIVESTOCK MYANMAR 2020 EXPO NEWS: MYANMAR’S LIVESTOCK & FISHERIES SECTOR ATTRACTS NEARLY US$800 MILLION IN FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENTS (FDI)

Myanmar’s livestock industry is open and ripe with opportunities. According to a recent report by the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA), Myanmar’s livestock and fisheries sector has attracted nearly US$800 million in foreign direct investments. Among them, Thailand has topped the list of investments with 18 enterprises worth over $384 million, followed by Singapore with 14 enterprises worth over $129 million. Recorded as one of the highest levels of foreign investment in Myanmar, these investments were made mostly in animal feed production and livestock exports and production.

According to the Myanma Livestock Federation, Myanmar’s livestock demand is skyrocketing amidst the steady growth of the country’s cattle industry. The rise in demand is expected to continue over the next three decades in line with increasing population growth, higher consumer incomes and urbanisation.

The best platform to capture and make the most of these opportunities is at AGRILIVESTOCK MYANMAR 2020 – Myanmar’s No.1 International Livestock, Feed and Agriculture Industry Exhibition and Conference. Held at the Myanmar Expo Hal, in Yangon from 3 to 5 December 2020, the Expo is expected to draw in thousands of industry professionals and trade visitors from all over Myanmar, including integrators, livestock and aquaculture farmers, feed millers, wholesalers, retailers, importers, and distributors.

Over 250 companies and brands representing 12 countries and regions are expected to participate in the Expo showcasing a wide range of the latest feed additives, feed milling equipment, modern agricultural machineries, fertilisers and many more other products and technology specifically for the livestock, feed and agriculture industry.
